Your body is a confection
Wrapped in a tight, shiny wrapper, to me, it glistens in the bin with all the others. It doesn’t stand out, but it suits me. I reach in and pluck it out of the bunch, rolling it between my fingers. It is hard on the outside, soft on the inside, and it is slow to melt. The flavor may seem bitter, but if I am patient, I can taste the sweetness.
